Lindell Pearson Sr.

Lindell E Pearson, Sr, 82, of Oklahoma City, died on March 9, 2011. He was born on March 6, 1929 in Oklahoma City to Cecil and Irene Pearson (both deceased). Preceded in death by both siblings, Willa Dean and Tommy Pearson. He was married to Earline Riggs Pearson in 1949 until her death in 2006. He is survived by his four children: Lindell (Alma) Pearson, Jr., OKC; Susan (Bill) Skepnek, Lawrence, KS; Patricia (John) Sturgis, OKC; David (Mariana) Pearson, McKinney, TX. He was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was a Capitol Hill boy who excelled in all sports that went on to be a graduate from the University of Oklahoma. Lindell was an outstanding football player. He was an Oklahoma All State player, OU halfback and a Detroit Lion in the early 50s. He was inducted into the Capitol Hill Hall of Fame. He watched life like a football game, knew the difference in people, and knew who winners were and who the losers were. He was loyal, loving, and strong until the last snap of the ball. Services will be on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at 10:00 AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 127 NW 7th, OKC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made in honor of Lindell #38 to Hospice of Oklahoma County, 4334 NW Expressway, OKC.
