Mikeman March 10, 1935 - July 28, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY Kathryn was born on March 10, 1935 in Shidler, OK to parents John and Zelma Ross. She was raised on a farm with eight brothers and sisters, remaining close to them throughout life. During high school while working at the local drugstore soda fountain, was met the love of her life, Randal Mikeman, from Wewoka, OK. After marrying, they moved to Blackwell, OK and then settled down in South Oklahoma City in 1955 and raised four children, Vicky, Kim, Keith and Kip, and later, dog Peaches. Her mothering skills were impeccable raising her children, and later getting to play an active role in the lives of her seven granddaughters. She was always supportive in her role as mother and Nanaw, and loved attending sporting events and school functions. Kathryn loved time spent with her granddaughters, teaching them how to bake. She was a homemaker and also worked part time demonstrating products at local grocery stores and running Hillbilly Bar-B-Q Sandwiches Stands. Kathryn loved spending time outdoors. She loved working in the yard with Randal and tending to her strawberry patch. Some of Kathryn's best memories were made at Lake Ouachita in Arkansas, where the family would camp each summer for over forty years. She loved being in, on and off the water. She would make all of her famous recipes at the lake, from waffles to pork chops and even homemade ice cream and pie. Her pies were always a big hit at the annual Ross Family Reunion. Kathryn loved getting to spend time with her siblings and their families, and cared for her mother in her later years. She enjoyed the relationships made with neighbors after having lived in the same house for 58 years. More recently, Kathryn enjoyed having coffee with some of the ladies at Brookhaven Mansions Senior Living Center, where she resided this last year. She was able to live closer to Randal so she could easily visit him at the Veteran's Center in Norman. Nana was never without her beloved dog Zoe who was her constant companion. She is survived by her loving husband: Randal, sister: Betsy Roe, brother: Bob Ross, her children: Vicky Davidson, Kim Rucker, Keith Mikeman and wife, Cindy, Kip Mikeman and wife, Crystal, her grandchildren: Rachel McGuire and husband, Chris, Tara Rucker, Erin Davidson, Emily Bush and husband, Brandon, Tamara Powell and husband, Nicholas, Amy Mikeman and Madison Mikeman, and great grandchildren: Nate, Sierra, and Brynn. Kathryn wants everyone to know how much she loved each and every person in her life. She will continue to live on in the countless memories, pictures, and recipes left to her family and friends. Services will be held 2 p.m. Sat., Aug. 2, in Candlewood Chapel at Ford Funeral Service in Midwest City, OK. Reception will follow services.
