June 2, 1925 - November 17, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Born to Beulah Lillian Shotts Jarrell and Newman Jarrell, Sr. in Synder, OK. He graduated from Snyder High School and entered the Army Air Corp. After serving in the Philippines he attended the University of Oklahoma and became a lifetime fan and season ticket holder. He married Juanda Woody, also of Snyder, OK. They lived many years in West Texas where he was involved in the businesses of farming, ranching, variety store retail, and owned the Oldsmobile and International Harvester dealerships. The family returned to OKC where he enjoyed his work with Hertz Security. Many will remember Newman's kind demeanor as he greeted them daily during his time there. He was a longtime member of New Covenant Christian Church. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, son Greg and wife Alice of Carney, OK, daughter Lark Dale and husband Mark of Nichols Hills, son Drew of Boiling Springs, SC, 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
