March 11, 1922 - Feb. 16, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Pauline C. Monkres passed on February 16, 2013, in Oklahoma City. She was born on March 11, 1922, in Idalou, Texas, to Hugh C. and Edna Zadie Davis Day. Pauline grew up in the southwestern US where her father worked for Phillips Petroleum Company. She attended Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City, and completed one year of college. On April 5, 1942, she married J.P. Monkres in Las Vegas, Nevada. When J.P. was stationed overseas during WWII, Pauline returned to Anadarko, Oklahoma, with their daughter, Janine Kay, until J.P. returned from China. They later settled in Oklahoma City, where their son, Lynn Hugh, was born. Pauline and family lived primarily in OKC except during 1966-1972, when they lived in Huntsville, Alabama. They were active members of Hillcrest Presbyterian Church in OKC, where Pauline taught Sunday School. She is survived by her son Lynn Hugh and wife Patricia (Laurel, MD) and grandchildren, Kenneth Dale and wife Lyn (OKC), Connie Jean and husband Ron Stobbe (Creede, CO), and Christina Lynn and husband Charles Zimmerman and great grandchildren, Jackson "JP" Pierce, Emmaline Rose, and Isaac Quinn Zimmerman (Odenton, MD). She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband JP of 62 years, and her daughter. Funeral services will be Friday, February 22, 2013, at 10:00am in the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
