November 2, 1919 - October 8, 2012 NORMAN "Though you cannot see or touch me, I'll be near, and if you listen with your heart, you'll hear, all my love around you soft and clear." Priscilla Whitaker Sullivan, 92, was born in Millerton, Oklahoma, the eighth child of Henry and Stella Whitaker. The family moved to the Slaughterville, Noble and Norman areas and she attended Central High School in Norman. In July, 1936 Priscilla married Hubert "Sully" Sullivan in Norman. They had been married 65 years when he passed away in August of 2001. They raised two daughters in Oklahoma City. Priscilla was a clerk at TG&Y for many years before beginning her long time career in bookkeeping at Brittain Brothers NAPA Auto Parts, retiring in 1985. "Sully" and "Mert" loved traveling across America in search of the perfect bus or attending Bus Bashes. Many friends had the pleasure of traveling with them and experiencing their wonderful partnership. Priscilla was a long time member of Rancho Village Baptist Church where she was active until health issues caused her to move to Norman with her daughter Joyce. She was a member of the church choir and the Shiners Senior Choir where she was able to continue her life-long love of music and sang her very first solo at age 65. Church attendance was one of the things she missed most during her later years. Her family and friends were blessed by her demonstration of faith in God, loyalty to family and friends, and a joyful spirit. All who knew her enjoyed her wonderful sense of humor that remained throughout her life. Her hobbies included sewing (the girls never had store bought dresses until their mid-teens), crocheting (afghans and hats for the Jesus House) and reading. Priscilla was preceded in death by her husband, H.C. "Sully" Sullivan, parents and great-granddaughter Madison Noel Demaree and siblings Anna Mae Whitaker Butler, Gertie Bee Whitaker Markham, Gertrude Whitaker Markham, H.A. Whitaker, Burnett Whitaker, Adale Whitaker Morgan, Lillian Whitaker Garner, Lincoln Whitaker, and Mary Whitaker Fleishman. She is survived by daughters Judy Cummins (Raymond) and Joyce Filipski, grandchildren Matt Demaree (Kathy), Doug Demaree (Marcie), Mike Filipski (Michelle), Jeanette Filipski Grigsby (Jonathan), Bryan Cummins, Brad Cummins (Michelle), Becki Cummins O'Brien (Sean) and great-grandchildren Brett Emerson, Austin Demaree, Meredith and Mikayla Demaree, Garrett, Kaitlyn and Anna Mae Filipski, Lucy and Ellie Grigsby, Brent Cummins, Chris and Becca Cummins, Lauren O'Brien, sisters-in-law Auguleen Bryant and Ruby Sullivan and a host of nieces and nephews. Viewing is available at Vondel L. Smith Funeral Home 6934 S. Western. Services will be held at Rancho Village Baptist Church, 1411 S.W. 38th, Oklahoma City, on Thursday, October 11th, at 1:00 p.m. with burial at 3:30 p.m. at IOOF Cemetery in Norman. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Priscilla's name to the or Rancho Village Baptist Church People Mover Fund.
