I just found out about Bob's death from an online publication from University of the Cumberlands. I was so shocked and saddened to see Bob's name and to read of his death. I remember his kind, sweet spirit and willingness to help this student with a class of his that was over my head! I remember singing his songs in Chorale. They are still in my head today! I wish I had gotten in touch with both of you in the last 15 years when I came back home to Texas. Please know that Bob was loved by many people. I am praying God will wrap his arms around you and comfort you.

Jean, you probably don't remember me but I remember you and Bob. Bob was Jim's closest friend but he was also a great mentor to him. There was hardly a time that Jim didn't mention Bob when we talked on the phone. Jim gave me your address but due to my 'inability' to master the computer, I filed it somewhere ???

I just wanted you to know that you both have been in my prayers these past few weeks and I will continue to carry you in mine. When times get difficult, just think of all the good times you have had together.

Sincerely,

Inice C. Tarrant

How I enjoyed knowing Bob as we worked together at OCCC and at Central Presbyterian Church OKC. Bob lived a passionate life full of high standards and deep joy. I send much love to Jean. Who knew that when I drove with you to Kentucky so long ago you would find such a prince as Bob? May the love of God enfold you at this time and always. If I can do anything for you please contact me through United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd Yukon where I serve as Minister of Music.

I really missed out- I didnt know Mr. Lombardo for a long time, but I'm friends w/ his step daughter. What a funny, witty man- ate dinner with him and his wife- lightened up the room. The family is definately in my thoughts and prayers.

I first met Bob when he joined the music department at Chisholm Trail Presbyterian Church as the choir director. He was nothing but kind, funny, thoughtful, and wonderfully talented. He was a treasure and will be sorely missed. Jean and the remaining family will be in my prayers-

I knew Bob, both as a teacher and my closest friend, for 35 years. Aside from his wit, depth, kind heart, and support, Bob always shared with me context...both in life as well as music. He made a positive impression on all he met throughout his many encounters. He was a gifted composer whose music will continue to be rediscovered as time goes by. Best of all, he now knows "Why".
