ROBERT RAMSEY

Feb 10, 1927 - Dec 17, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Robert Gillett Ramsey died December 17, 2012, on a cruise. He was born on February 10, 1927, in Oklahoma City, OK, son of Erle and Betty Ramsey. He graduated from Central High School in 1945 and was a member of the Black Shirts. He was active with Central High School Alumni on the board and officer in the class of 45. He served in the Navy for WW II and the Korean Conflict. He worked for TG&Y and also did business in real estate. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Alyse; his children, William E. Ramsey, Guy M. Ramsey, and Martha Ellis and her husband Kevin; his grandchildren, D. Brooke Farrow and Madison R. Ellis; his sister-in-law, Polly Ann Thomas; and several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, William E.; and sisters, Mary Alice and Peggy. Bob was a lifelong member of Wesley UMC and served on the board for many years. Bob enjoyed traveling with family. A Memorial Service will be held on December 27, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Wesley UMC, 1401 N.W. 25th St., Oklahoma City.
