June 27, 1946 - Dec. 19, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Rodney Paul Blake was born June 27, 1946 to Lydia and Don Blake. He clasped the hand of his Savior and stepped across Heaven's threshold on December 19, 2012; leaving behind his beloved wife, Rebecca (McKinney), to whom he pledged his love and devotion in marriage on October 22, 1977. He loved his family and is survived by three children, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His son, Sean and wife Dondi with their children, Amanda, Chris (Sarah), Haley, Chandler, Sabrina and Amara. His daughter, Shelly and husband Travis with their son, Grayson. His daughter, Sonda and husband Andy with their children, Allison and Jake. His oldest brother, Art preceded him in death in 1982 and also one nephew. He is survived by two brothers, Virgil (Reba) and Bill (Sharon). He has numerous nieces and nephews who loved their uncle Rodney. Rodney established and operated Blake's R&R Roofing Co. in 1981 and continued its operation until 1998. He also established Outback Tackle where he proudly created his unique and proprietary designs. He displayed amazing abilities with coloring and design of fishing lures despite his colorblindness. His lures were distributed to states across the U.S. He was contacted by several professional anglers for direct distributions of his prized lures. He loved fishing, camping and family time. Rodney was a 32 Degree Mason with The Myrtle Lodge #145. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Christ's Legacy Church, 11101 N. Morgan Rd., Oklahoma City, OK. Officiating by Pastor David Brooks. Arrangements were provided by John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, OK.
