(Casper, Goodin)Oct 11, 1946 - Nov 9, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Sandy was born on October 11, 1946, in Wapanuka, Oklahoma, to Wesley and Dessie Hamer. Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Wesley E. Hamer (Freck); and her stepfather, H.C. Judkins. She is survived by her mother, Dessie Judkins, of Norman, OK; her brother, Wesley Hamer, of Norman, OK; her three children: Matthew Casper, of Oklahoma City, OK; Drew Casper and wife Susan, of Tulsa, OK; and Ginger Maxted and husband Mark, of Oklahoma City, OK; as well as five grandchildren, Josephine and David Casper and Wesley, Wiley and Eleanor Maxted. Sandy will be remembered as a loving and dedicated grandmother, "Cici."Sandy graduated from Del City High School in 1964, then received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1968. Sandy began her professional career as an 8th grade English teacher in the Carl Albert school system. After spending years as a mother and dedicated homemaker, she returned to school and completed her Master's of Public Health then returned to the workforce in Health Care Administration. Sandy loved the arts and appreciated all artistic media. She had a keen sense of style -- a fabulous wardrobe and home. She was an avid reader, worked the daily crossword puzzle, and played in the same Tuesday Night Bridge Club for over thirty years. Collecting a multitude of friends over the years, Sandy enjoyed social outings, celebrating life's milestones and any excuse to throw a good party. Sandy loved to travel and spontaneous adventures, including snow skiing, water skiing, hiking, watching a film, and just being outdoors. Sandy believed celebrating every occasion was essential and that cooking fine food was an act of love for her family and friends. Most memorable will be Sandy's commitment to her family as a mother and grandmother. Please join us in celebrating Sandy's life at the Quail Creek Country Club, 3501 Quail Creek Road, Oklahoma City, OK 73120, on Tuesday, November 13th from 6 to 8 p.m., come and go.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the North Side YMCA of Oklahoma City, OK in honor of Sandy's passion for youth sports.Sandy will be forever remembered and always loved.
