March 12, 1970 - May 5, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Valerie Jean Brown, 42, of Oklahoma City, died Saturday May 5th at Mercy Hospital after a six year battle with breast cancer. She was born on March 12, 1970 in Oklahoma City to the late Leo Thomas Brown and Helen Alice Brown. Ms. Brown taught at Kerr Middle School for five years. She had a passion for teaching and was named Teacher of the Year in 2011. She is survived by daughter Jordan Michelle Brown Brecht, grandaughter Alexa Michelle Thomas, and a host of close friends. Services will be held on Thursday, May 10, at 6pm at First Baptist Church Mustang, 928 N. Mustang Rd., Mustang, OK 73064.
