April 2, 1931 - Feb 7, 2014 SHAWNEE Willie E. Higgins, 82, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2014, at his home. He was born April 2, 1931, to Marvin and Lillian (Mahan) Higgins in Blanchard, Oklahoma. Willie was raised in the Oklahoma City area. Willie married Maxine Blackburn on May 12, 1950, in Oklahoma City, and they were married 63 years. Together, they raised their family, which spans four generations. They have provided trusses for over 30 thousand homes and businesses in Oklahoma and across the United States. Willie was a member of the Evangelistic Center Church for 28 years and attended Rock Creek Baptist Church. Willie was happiest serving the Lord and working outside in his yard and garden. He built two wooden arched bridges over his ponds, which became a favorite place for his grandkids to play. Willie loved fishing, planting and raising vegetables every year. He was honored to have many choose his bridges and yard for their wedding or family and church functions. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Lillian Higgins; and two brothers, Joe Higgins and Kenneth Higgins. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 63 years, Maxine Higgins, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law: Sandra and Bob Storie, of Newalla; and Marcia and Robert Hacker, of Tecumseh; two sons and daughters-in-law: Wesley and Jane Higgins, of Tecumseh; and Michael and Gayla Higgins, of Shawnee; eight grandchildren, Greg and Michelle Storie, David and Carrie Storie, Jill and Destry Newman, Kim Hacker, Dusty Higgins, Matt and Sarah Higgins, Sarah Higgins and Bobby Hacker; 10 great-grandchildren, Jake Bradford, Bryce Storie, Josh Storie, Tanner Newman, Kirsten Storie, Heather Storie, Ali Newman, Isabel Storie, Destynee Newman and Nate Higgins; brother and sister-in-law, Clifford and Teri Higgins, of Dibble; sister and brother-in-law, Noami and Loyd Ellenberg, of Guthrie; sisters-in-law: Linda Higgins, of Sulphur; and Sue Higgins, of Weatherford; and numerous extended family and friends.
