Sep 13, 1928 - Dec 30, 2012 MIDWEST CITY Charles L. Fullbright passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 30, 2012, while visiting family in Tampa, FL. Charles was born on September 13, 1928, to Pete and Viola (Jeffers) Fullbright in Castle, OK. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean Conflict. Charles married Rachel Garrett on November 22, 1952, and they were a devoted couple for almost 60 years until her passing on June 7, 2012. Charles worked for more than 40 years in the heavy equipment business, working primarily at Boecking Machinery and briefly at J.R. Diesel Company. Charles is survived by his daughters: Denise (Barry) Haggerty, of Panama City, FL; and Stephanie (Rodney) Stearns, of Edmond, OK; as well as eight grandchildren: Kristen (Patrick) Jinks and Kasey (Casey) Dye, of Tampa, FL; Shelby Duggan, of Edmond, OK; Matt Duggan, of Yokosuka, Japan; Emily and Molly Stearns, of Edmond, OK; Lindsay Haggerty, of Lahaina, HI; and Jordan Haggerty, of Panama City, FL. Survivors also include sisters: Helen (Johnnie) Gillis, of Hatch, NM; and Betty Puckett, of Weleetka, OK; as well as brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews. Charles was a faithful Christian and a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church. Family will receive visitors on Sunday, January 6 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ford Funeral Service, 305 S. Sooner Road, Midwest City. A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013, in the sanctuary of the St. Matthew United Methodist Church, 300 N. Air Depot, Midwest City, at 2 p.m., with interment immediately following at Arlington Memory Gardens. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Rett Syndrome Research Trust, 67 Under Cliff Rd, Trumbull, CT 06611, in honor of Charles's granddaughter, Emily Stearns.
