Oct 4, 1914 - Dec 28, 2012 YUKON Charlotte Johns Self passed away on December 28, 2012, after living a loving and blessed life of 98 years. She was born October 4, 1914, in Sedan, Oklahoma, to Lula Mae & Thaddeus Johns. She was briefly married to George Dodson, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and gave birth to her only child, a beautiful daughter named Laura Mae, on December 11, 1932. She moved to Oklahoma City in the latter 1930s and resided there until her death. There, she met Clarence "Aaron" Self, and they married on February 27, 1937, in Norman, Oklahoma. She was a fun-loving, Christian grandmother with a wonderful sense of humor. She was loved tremendously by her family. She worked briefly for Swift and Company in the 1940s but spent most of her life as a housewife, lovingly raising and cherishing her daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Self; daughter, Laura Mae Dodson Crossland, and son-in-law, Jimmy Crossland; granddaughter, Sharon Crossland Schwab; parents, Thad and Lula Mae Johns; her sisters, Marie Cox and Alice Toland; and brothers, Seburn, William, Issac, and John Johns. Her surviving family members include grandchildren, Rex and Danna Crossland, Laree Webb, Michael Schwab, Joe Goodnoh and Paul Webb; and great-grandchildren, Lauren Schwab, Lauree Goodnoh, Andria Goodnoh Stoumbaugh, Andrew Stoumbaugh, Joe and Rachel Keyser, and Ethan Schwab. She is also survived by her great-great-grandchildren: Zachary, Madyson, Jaxon, and Ruby Keyser; and Autumn Goodnoh; in addition to her sister, Zelma Gaines; and brother, Minton Johns; and a large number of nieces and nephews, whom she greatly loved. Viewing and visitation will be today 12-8 p.m. at Vondel Smith South. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at South Lindsay Baptist Church, 3300 S.
