David U. Anwanwan, 51, a resident of Oklahoma City, died peacefully at his home on the early morning of Thursday, January 10, 2008. He was born on October 20, 1956 in Ikot Ekpene, Nigeria. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Comfort; his 5 beautiful children, Uduak, Eno, Samuel, David Jr., and John; 2 brothers; 3 sisters; as well as countless friends and acquaintances. He was a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor's in Political Science and was continuing to pursue his Master's degree. David worked for the State of Oklahoma for about 11 years. He enjoyed politics, attending cultural events, playing tennis and soccer, and he had a passion for the culinary arts. David was a strong, determined and hardworking individual who was intent to reach all his goals. He was also a devoted Christian. David was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by everyone he has encountered throughout his life. The family will have a wake-keeping on Friday, January 18, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. at Boys Scouts of America, 3031 N.W. 64th St., OKC, OK 73116. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2008, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 3600 NW Expressway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David's name to Messiah Lutheran Church, 3600 NW Expwy, OKC, OK 73112.
