Delfa Newlin

July 26, 1921 - May 27, 2011 ARDMORE Delfa Maxine Newlin passed away on May 27, 2011, in Ardmore, OK. She was born on July 26, 1921, in Peabody, Kansas. She moved to Okla. City, OK as a child. She graduated from Central High School and received a Business degree from Okla. A&M. While in college she won many women's double tennis matches. She worked for the IRS in Okla. City for 30 years. She was a member of Wesley Methodist Church. Delfa is predeceased by her parents, James and Dessie Hoverstock Newlin; her brothers and their wives, Earl and Phyllis Newlin, and Kenneth and Rosalind Newlin; nephew James Robert Newlin. She is survived by her nieces: Marilyn Walker of Ardmore, who was her caregiver; and Marcia Ward of Edmond. She is also survived by her cousins: Bill Newlin of Muskogee, OK; and Ron and Marcia Hoverstock of Topeka, KS. There will be no services. Contributions in her name may be made to Alzheimer's or Heart Research.
