July 2, 1935 - Dec 23, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Eddie Burns, 77, passed away December 23, 2012. Eddie was born July 2, 1935, to Travis and Jewel Burns in Ada, Oklahoma. He grew up in Oklahoma City and started Burns Electric when he was 20 years old. He lived in Oklahoma City until 1988, and that is when he married Sharon Miller and moved to his farm in Hinton and began raising Ostriches. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; two sons, Glen and Mike Burns, both of Edmond; as well as three grandchildren, Brandy Bynum, Chris Burns and Jennifer Burns; and one great-granddaughter, Alivia Deguisti. He is also survived by his sister, Patsy McGloughlin. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Debbe. He loved OU football, carpentry and woodworking; he also was an avid golfer, but most of all, he loved fishing with his best friend, Ron James. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, 1501 NW 9th Ave, Bob Hope Rd, Miami, FL 33136-1494, in Eddie's memory. A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
