May 17, 1925 - Mar. 10, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY Max Grade, age 88, of OKC, died at his home at Emerald Square on Mar. 10, 2014. Max was born May 17, 1925 in Alfalfa County, OK to Elcy F. Grade and Etta Pauline Murlin. He was in the U.S. Army with the 349th Troop Carrier Group from 1943-1946. On Oct. 20, 1946, he married Freda Mae Holt. He worked on radar equipment. He worked at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, OK from 1958-1960. He was employed by FAA in OKC from 1960 until his retirement in 1985. He loved working in his garage, making different things. He taught himself how to paint. He enjoyed gardening, cooking and watching Nascar and golfing on TV. He loved his daughter and three granddaughters very much. He was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church in OKC for many years. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Freda Mae; and a brother, Norris F. Grade. He is survived by his daughter, Carla Woodrow and husband Carl of Yukon, OK; granddaughters, Rachae Woodrow of Yukon, Shannon Vogel and husband Gordon of Bethany, OK and Ashton Woodrow of Yukon. He is also survived by two great-granddaughters, Jadyn and Carmen Vogel. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thur., Mar. 13, 2014, at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Fri., Mar. 14, 2014, at Metropolitan Baptist Church in OKC. Interment will follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery in OKC. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Max's name to: Metropolitan Baptist Church, 7201 W. Britton Rd., OKC, OK 73132-1599.
