Sept 22, 1924 - Nov 14, 2012 BETHANY Ellen Lorene Brownen, of Bethany, OK, completed her earthly journey and passed on from this life on November 14, 2012. She was born in McClain County, OK on a dairy farm September 22, 1924, one of ten children. She picked cotton and did farm chores, graduating from Dibble High School. During World War II, she worked at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft, but her greatest achievement was wife, mother, and homemaker. Lorene was an avid gardener and loved her flowers. She and her husband, Harvey, also loved rock-hounding and were longtime members of the Oklahoma Mineral and Gem Society, hosting a booth with fluorescent rocks during their annual shows and traveling the country looking for rocks and gems, as well as making jewelry. She loved watching the red cardinals come to her bird feeder every year. Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; three brothers, Delbert, Larry and Bobby; son, Harvey II (Pat); a grandson, and a great-grandson. She leaves in this world three brothers, Ronnie, Jerry and Ken; three sisters, Alma, Karen and Louise; three children, Barry, Sue and Janet; 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
