NewkumetApril 25, 1920 - Nov 8, 2012 KANSAS CITY, MO Geneva Carrell Newkumet, 92, passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17th at Putnam City Baptist Church, 11401 N. Rockwell, Oklahoma City, OK 73162. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Putnam City Baptist Church.Geneva was born April 25, 1920, in Holdenville, OK to Newton and Myrtle (Johnson) Carrell. She worked for J. Edgar Hoover at the FBI in Washington, DC during WWII and transferred to the Oklahoma City office, where she met and married Frank Newkumet. Together, they raised five children. She was a member of Putnam City Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and Bible studies. Geneva was also proud to be the church secretary for many years, and she also enjoyed gardening. Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Newkumet; and son, Joe Newkumet. She is survived by her children: Katie (Michael) Dobey, of Midland, TX; Wayne (Linda) Newkumet, of Midland, TX; Jana (Clint) Chase, of Kansas City, MO; and Jim Newkumet, of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren: Chase and Travis Newkumet; Caleb, Elisabeth and Rebekah Chase; and Heidi Dobey.
