February 25, 1931 - December 7, 2013 CUSHING Gloria Gayle Holliday, a longtime Cushing resident passed away on Saturday evening, December 7, 2013 with her family by her side at the age of 82. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wed-nesday, December 11, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church, Cushing. Interment will follow at Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, Cushing, OK. Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK. Gloria was born on February 25, 1931 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late Sue (Moffett) Graves. She grew up in Oklahoma City, graduating from Central High School in 1949. Gloria began working with Capitol Hill Florist in high school where she met her future husband Manuel Holliday. She married the love of her life Manuel Holliday on March 22, 1952 in Oklahoma City. While living in Oklahoma City, she worked for Ralston Purina and later Clary Petroleum. They made their home in Oklahoma City and Norman prior to moving to Cushing in 1966. They enjoyed going to the lake with their children, having many fun weekends over the summer. They owned Lavery's Flower Shop and also Four Season's Flower Shop in Cushing. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir for many years. Gloria worked at the Cushing Middle School in the E.D. Class for 18 years, retiring at the age of 80. Gloria enjoyed playing Golf and was in two bridge clubs. She liked baking, traveling and was an avid O.U. Sooner Fan. Gloria especially loved spending time with her family. Gloria is survived by her sons Steve Holliday of St. Louis, Missouri, Phil Holliday and wife Connie of Eufaula, Paul Holliday and wife Shelley of Shawnee, daughter Susan Eubank and husband Rick of Cushing, daughter-in-law Elaine Holliday of Shawnee, brother Joseph McKeown of Ponte' Vedra Beach, Florida, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
