Nov. 12, 1924 - Nov. 5, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Henry Gassen, 87, a kind and loving father, grandfather and friend passed away at home with his family on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012. After two years of pain and suffering his body was tired of fighting and God granted him eternal rest. Henry was born in Okarche, OK on Nov. 12, 1924 to Theodore and Frances Gassen. He married Betty Voss on Sep. 20, 1949 and was blessed with 6 children who they would have given their lives for. He retired from American Trailers in 1991 and was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for 56 years. He had a heart of gold and never knew a stranger. Henry has always been known as a hard worker and you could always depend on him for a helping hand or a good laugh. He will be missed by so many. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 granddaughter, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors include son, Ed Gassen & wife LeAnn; daughters, Judy Finley & husband Bob, Sandra Hysell & husband Ron, Janet Horn & husband Scott, Debbie Bruner & husband Russell, LaDonna Johnson & husband Matt; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters and many loving family and friends. Wake Service 7 PM Thursday held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 3901 SW 29th. Services to celebrate his life will be held 10 AM Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 at the church with burial following at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
