Hubert Cook Obituary

Hubert (Duke) Cook passed away on April 10, 2005. He was born on January 22, 1933 in Mooreland, Oklahoma to William C. Cook and Mary B. Egbert Cook. He was well known and loved by the many people he was able to assist during his years as a loan officer at the First National Bank in Lindsay. Duke went to Capital Hill High School in 1949 to 1953 and was known for his football skills. Duke loved life and belonged to the Kiwanis's Club, Chamber of Commerce, Oklahoma Bankers Association, United Way and the Lions Club. He lived in Tonkawa, Ponca City, Oklahoma City, Anadarko and Newcastle before making Lindsay his home. Duke was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma. He was Ordained Deacon on February 1994 and the Director of Adult 3 Sunday School Department. He is survived by his wife Arda Louise Cook, three children, Darrell and Beth Cook, Pamela K. Knight, Bradley and Sonja Cook, and many grand children. He is also survived by three brothers, H.L. (Red) and wife Helen Cook, Harold and Juanita Cook, Dr. Raymond Cook, and one sister, Mary and her husband Jack James. Services for Duke are set for Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Lindsay, OK. Interment will be the Niles Cemetery in Hinton, OK. Funeral services are under the direction of B. G. Boydston Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the Cook family online at www.boydstonfuneralhome.com. Memorial contributions may be made to: Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation and Loving Care Hospice, Purcell, Oklahoma.
