James Edward Allred, age 83, passed away July 26, 2007. James was born March 12, 1924 in Petrolia, Texas to Oscar and Alpha (Ballard) Allred. James was a barber for most of his life. He served our country proud in the Army Airforce. He had the 'honor" of cutting Elvis' hair while he was in boot camp and even got to cut John Wayne's hair when he came for a tour of the camp. James loved talking about his younger years and gardening and growing tomatoes. He is survived by his daughter, Ruby Core and husband Loren; 3 sisters, Reba Jones, Jean Dodd, and Dean Clark; 5 grandchildren, Brien Core and wife Yan of Torrance, CA, Darran Core of Bremerton, WA, Byron Core and wife Zella of Snowflake, AZ, Amy Ludwig and husband Brian of Arizona City, AZ, Travis Core of Portland OR; 5 great- grandchildren, Andrew Core, Cody Core, Makenna, Kierra and Colton Ludwig. Viewing will be 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Tuesday, July 31, 2007. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
