Rutherford June 6, 1930 - Nov 14, 2012 LANGLEY A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate Jim Rutherford's life at the First Christian Church, 220 Cherokee Avenue, Langley, Oklahoma 74350, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2012. Services are entrusted to Stephens Memorial Chapel, Pryor, OK. The family requests that donations be made to the Oklahoma/ Arkansas Chapter or to the . James King Rutherford, age 82, died peacefully on November 14, 2012, in Oklahoma City after suffering from Alzheimer's Disease for over ten years. Jim was born June 6, 1930, in Gaffney, South Carolina, to James Amis and Mildred Idsardi Rutherford. He graduated from Central High School in Tulsa in 1948 and from Ozark Christian College in 1952. Jim was a successful salesman but, more importantly, was a pastor for many years. He helped start and build Riverlawn Christian Church in Wichita, Kansas, where he served as pastor for thirteen years. He also was the pastor of the First Christian Church in Langley from 1984-2008. Jim is survived by his wife of 39 years, Eva Jo Rucker Hale Rutherford; brother, Dean Rutherford and wife Pattie, of Fresno, CA; brother, Shan Rutherford and wife Karen, of Greenwood, IN; son, James R. Rutherford and his wife Sheila, of Catoosa, OK; daughter, Julia Carol McReynolds, of Loveland, CO; son, Joel S. Rutherford and wife Margaret, of Langley, OK; son, Jon F. Hale and wife Lynn Kamenitsa, of Oak Park, IL; daughter, Linda Hale McGuire and husband Kent, of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Katie Rutherford, Houston Conner, Savannah Snyder, Joshua McReynolds, Amy Green, Jennifer Tompkins, Sarah McReynolds, Megan Spine, Lindsey Sisson, Emily Carroll, Grace Ann Rutherford, Vade Kamenitsa-Hale, Nellie Kamenitsa-Hale, William Dane, III, and Wyatt McGuire; eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.Special thanks to Quail Creek Nursing Center and to Physician's Choice Hospice for providing Jim with months of compassionate and loving care when Eva Jo could no longer care for him without assistance.
