Jerry Holbrook Obituary

Jerry Holbrook was six-foot- four and a man among men to his friends. To his family he was a hero. To his Savior he was a servant. Jerry was born April 4, 1940 to Elmer and Hilda Holbrook. He grew up in Ardmore, OK and moved to Oklahoma City at the age of 17. He worked at Rainbo Bakery for 46 years. He met and married Bobbie Holbrook when he was 21, and this January they would have celebrated 49 years of marriage. Jerry loved the outdoors, and he loved to work with his hands. But most of all, he loved his family. Jerry is survived by four sons: Mark and wife Mica of Hugo, OK; Jeff and wife Lori of OKC; Jimmy and wife Abby of Harrah; and Tommy and fiancee Jennifer of Newalla, OK; 11 grandchildren: Whitney, Brian, Michael, Ashley, Shelly, Kelly, Joel, Jonah, Faith, Katelyn, and Zoe; and 1 great-granddaughter, Brynlee; two sisters: Carolyn and husband Jimmy Day, and Kathryn and husband Cecil Williamson, both of Ardmore, Oklahoma; as well as many nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara; and his parents. Jerry departed this life December 2, 2010, bound for glory after a courageous battle against Parkinson's and Multiple Myeloma. On this day the world lost a great man. All who knew him will miss him, and we are looking forward to our reunion in that great land where we will never grow old. Funeral is Monday, December 6, 2:00pm, at Harrah Church, located at 101 S Dobbs, Rev. Jimmy Holbrook officiating.

Jerry was my favorite "cousin husband". There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for you or his family. His faith was strong. I will miss him as many others will. Be with God Jerry, now and forever.
