December 20, 1988 - June 30, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Joey, 24, went to be with the Lord on June 30, 2013. He was born in Farmington, NM to Connie and Joey Fowler Sr. Joey was a gifted child. He excelled at basketball, football, saxophone, and just about anything else he tried to do. Joey spent most of his playtime with his caring sister Stefanie. He loved going on many family vacations. In middle school, Joey made All-State in alto saxophone and vocal performance. In 2007, Joey graduated from Westmoore H.S. where he played on the Jaguar football team. After high school, Joey attended Texas Tech University on a football scholarship. After one year as a Red Raider, Joey transferred to UCO, and then to ACM@UCO, where he studied music production. Joey loved playing football, but his passion was music. He was a writer, composer, instrumentalist, and singer. He performed regularly at various Oklahoma City music venues. At the time of his death, Joey worked as a forklift operator for Airgas Co. Joey greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, but the most special moments of his life were those spent with his daughter Reggae. On June 23, 2012 Joey gave his heart and life to Jesus Christ and it changed his life forever. We know that we will see him in Heaven someday. Joey will be deeply missed by all. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Frank Fowler Sr. Joey is survived by his loving daughter, Reggae Simone Coshow; parents, Connie & Joey Sr.; sisters, Stefanie Fowler Embree & husband, Steven, Maelie Fowler, & Mollie Fowler; brother, Jayden Fowler; twin nephews, Landon & Hudson Embree; great grandmother, Edna Sharum; grandparents, Bruce & Barbara Foster and J.D. & Lula Westmoreland; and countless other family & friends. Viewing will be held at Vondel Smith Mortuary, 4000 SW 119th St. Saturday from 4-8 PM & Sunday 12-8 PM. The family will be available for condolences on Sunday from 3-5 PM. Services to celebrate his life will be held at 10:00 AM, July 8, 2013 at Southern Hills Baptist Church, 8601 S. Penn, OKC, with burial following at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. An account has been set up at Chase Bank in the name of Reggae Coshow to honor the memory of her father, Joey Dale Fowler Jr. In lieu of flowers donations can be made at any Chase branch.
