Julie Mitchell Obituary

Julie Bryant Mitchell, 34, of Edmond, Okla., was granted her angel wings on November 2, 2010. Born February 18, 1976 in Yonkers, New York, to Harvey and Peggy Bryant, she had one sister, Stephanie, who was her best friend throughout life. She attended Pope John Paul II High School in Boca Raton, Florida, where she was an All American cheerleader, member of the track team and competed in the Junior Olympics. Julie then graduated from the University of Southern California in 1998 with a degree in Business, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and a Trojan football fan. In April 2005 she married Teddy Mitchell, and they welcomed their beautiful daughter, London Elissa, into their lives in September 2009. In becoming a mother, she fulfilled her life's ambition and the past year raising London was the most precious and blessed time of her life. A devoted and caring mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend, Julie enjoyed running, shopping, traveling and spending quality time with her large, extended family. A recent proud moment was completing the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon in April 2010. Julie was high spirited and will be remembered not only for her outer beauty but more so for her caring soul, strong hugs, infectious smile and ability to make everyone around her feel loved and appreciated. She brought out the best of everyone she met and positively touched many lives. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her including her three dogs, Gucci, Armani and Mercedes. She is survived by her husband, Teddy Mitchell, and daughter, London; stepsons: Dryden, Daniel and Nick Mitchell; mother, Peggy Bryant; father, Harvey Bryant, and stepmother, Claudia Bartel Bryant; sister, Stephanie Bruehl, and husband, Chris; stepbrother, Jon Bartel, wife Julie, and niece Olivia; stepsister, Joey Bartel and fiance, Brian Meyers; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded by her maternal grandparents, Bill and Rita Kinnally; and paternal grandparents, Harry Bryant and Alta Bryant Dent. A celebration of her life will be held at Life Church, 4600 E. 2nd Street, Edmond, Okla., on Wednesday, November 10th, at 3:00 p.m.

I knew Julie from St. Joan. I was a year ahead of Julie but she had friends in every grade. I have great memories of all of us girls laughing and having a good time after school at basketball and cheerleading. Her smile always greeted everyone with such warmth. May the Bryant and Mitchell families find comfort and strength during this difficult time. God bless her sweet baby girl. Julie, you will be missed.

To one of the most beautiful friend and mother that I have the pleasure of knowing, you have warmed my heart and were always there for me when I needed comfort from a friend , never once did we as friends ever judge one another. We only had that friendship that would last forever, even though you lived so far away. I am so grateful that I was able to spend time with you here in Orange County in the month of October 2010. We laughed so hard, danced the night away to (TOOT IT AND BOOT IT) with friends and you will always have a special place in my heart. My prayers are with you and your family at this time and I know you will be Gods perfect Angel to look over all of us and to your daughter London. You will always be a mother to her. And know that we will share nothing but wonderful stories about you.

Julie had a sense of humor that rubbed off on everyone - she and I laughed till we cried at times. She was a class act. I wish I had spent more time with her. Lesson learned. Her family did not deserve this in anyway, and I hope they find peace and comfort in memories of her.

I did not know Julie but, while reading Nancy Grace's Facebook page, I saw her entry about her passing. It brought me to tears. What a terrible tragedy. She fulfilled her dream of having a beautiful daughter, which I did too for the first time at age 42. It saddens me so to know that this precious child will be without her mother, who was so thrilled and honored to have her in her life. My prayers go out to the family and my hope is that they keep Julie's memory alive for this dear baby. God bless you, Julie. You have touched my life.....

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family. Julie was a lovely person; we always enjoyed seeing her. We last saw her when we framed her memorabilia from the Oklahoma City Memorial Run. She grinned and said it was about as easy as having a baby. Her friends and family are in our prayers.

It is impossible to think of the good times in high school without thinking about Julie's smiling face. There are memories that can not be forgotten. The first girl I ever took on a date, the first girl I ever bought flowers for, and a wonderful prom date. I will truly treasure our prom picture and all the memories and laughs we shared for all my days.

Dear Julie~
I just read your obituary, and still can't believe that you are gone. I KNOW that you ARE in heaven. My fondest memory of you was how nice u were to me when i was new@PopeJohnPaul. You made me feel welcomed. Your radiant smile and yr passion for life...this world will be an empty place w/out you. You have always been inspiration to me. A lot of my high school memories contain YOU in them. I just don't understand why this had to happen? So many of yr friends from high school have been so saddened by yr death. Forever u will remain in my heart. I really mean that! I will never 4get yr smile!! Sincerely-Lisa.
