ShockleyDec 16, 1939 - March 7, 2013 MUSTANG Kenneth Dewayne Shockley, age 73, went to be with the Lord March 7, 2013. He was born Dec. 16, 1939, in Apache, OK to Joy Earl and Bessie (Hollenbeck) Shockley. Kenneth graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1958. He married the love of his life, Carole Wilbanks, on Feb. 10, 1959. He was a graduate of the Oklahoma City Police Academy in 1968 and served five years. While at the police department, he owned and operated Ken Shockley Backhoe Service. In 1977, he founded S&S Excavation with his brother-in-law, Bud Selsor. Since 1981, he had operated his business with his son, Dale Shockley, and nephew, Derrell Fowler. He enjoyed farming and raising cattle. His pride and joy was his family; they meant the world to him, and they were equally devoted to him, as they always referred to him as their "Rock" in the family. He lived life to its fullest -- in work or in play! He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carole; and his brothers, Otis and Bill. He was dearly loved and leaves to cherish his memory his son, Dale Shockley & wife Carrie; daughters, Dalana Ward & husband Don, and Amy Orton & husband Matt; grandchildren, Jake Shockley & wife Holly, Camille Pritchard & husband Garrett, Callie Ward, Haley Mitchell & husband Chance, Kyle Ward, Tori Shockley, Logan and Landon Orton; great-grandchildren, Paisley and Cinch Mitchell, Gavin and Ellie Kate Pritchard. Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2013, at the First Baptist Church of Mustang, followed by interment at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
