April 13, 1921 - Jan 9, 2014 EDMOND Lionel P. Walker was born April 13, 1921, to Morgan and Ruby Walker in Boswell, OK, where he grew up. He died January 9, 2014, in Edmond, OK. Whether it was serving his country in the U.S. Army or finding ways to always provide for his family, Lionel truly lived a life worth modeling. He met his stunning bride of 71+ years, Tommie Jo Fly, at a church youth meeting. He left Boswell to pursue his degree in pharmacy from The University of Oklahoma. Lionel graduated and spent a few years in pharmacy before starting his own medical supply company, Anesthesia Service, Inc. He loved to spend time outdoors in his garden or bird hunting. Lionel strived to be an expert student of scripture. He was enthusiastic about studying, teaching, and writing commentaries on the Bible. He also served as an Elder for the Village, North MacArthur, and Mineola Churches of Christ. Most recently, he was a member of Memorial Road Church of Christ. Lionel was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Betty Ansley. He is survived by his wife, Tommie Jo; son, Steve Walker and wife Jo Anna; three daughters, Patti Allison and husband Mike, Becky Masters and husband Bill, and Pam Parker and husband Ron; eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by three brothers, Paul Walker and wife Sandy, Ben Walker and wife Sally, and Dan Walker and wife Geri; as well as a sister, Jennie Andrews and husband Clyde. Services celebrating Lionel's life will be at 11 a.m. Monday, January 13 at Crawford Family Funeral Service, Edmond, with a reception immediately following the service. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
