July 2, 1924 - December 1, 2012 EDMOND Loren Duane Goetz, Sr., 88, of Edmond, died Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Mercy Hospital. He was born on July 2, 1924, at Montevideo, MN, to the late Carl and Ruby Anderson Goetz. He was raised by his mother at age 8 after his father was killed in a hunting accident. After high school, he joined the Navy and flew cargo planes during WWII. His love of flying took him to a career as an air traffic controller and instructor with the FAA, retiring in 1991. Survivors include wife: Mary Kathryn of the home; two sons: Loren Jr. and Dan and families; two daughters: Cyndie and Debbie and families; three step-children: Robert, Meg and Kelly and families; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 10 am Friday, Dec. 7, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church Columbarium Chapel, Edmond, with Father Mark Story officiating.
