Marilyn Hill Obituary

Tuesday, February 9, 2010, Marilyn Hill lay down for a nap, and God called her home. She was born February 12, 1930, in Detroit, MI, to Helen and James Duncan. Marilyn moved to Washington D.C. in 1942 when she was adopted by her stepfather, Lt. Cmdr. Ralph Packer. They later moved to Long Beach, CA where she graduated from L.B. H.S. in 1945. She attended Long Beach City College, entertained the returning sailors at the Officers' Club, and hosted her own Radio Show. In 1947, she met and married the love of her life, Donald Hill. They were happily married until Don's death in 1993. Marilyn was personal secretary to J.B. White for many years and retired from Bank of America in 1995. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband. She is survived by daughter Kathy Elerick & husband Phil of Drumright; son Michael Hill & wife Connie, Edmond; grandchildren, Chris Elerick & wife Keri, Stroud, Cate Elerick, Jones, Stephanie Galbreaith & husband Jeremy, ID, Kimberly Hill, Edmond; great-grandchildren, Drew & Grant Elerick, Stroud, Ian, Isaac, & Emery Galbreaith. She also leaves a host of friends at Quail Creek Nursing Center and her adopted Elerick family. Visitation will be 8am-9pm Friday, February 12, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. A graveside service will be 2pm, Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010 at Memorial Park Cemetery.

I remember all the wonderful times at your home when I was in highschool. Also remember the great cooking, especially the lemon meringue pie and hot potato salad. So appreciative of all the things learned from Lynn and Don over the years. I take Vitamin C on a daily basis, religiously!
