Aug 27, 1930 - Dec 21, 2012 BETHANY Mary Dorothy Griffith, age 82, daughter of George Washington Houston and LuVernia Hall Houston, was born on August 27, 1930, in Haywood, OK and went to her heavenly home on December 21, 2012. Dorothy lived her childhood years in Okarche, OK, where she eventually met Everett Griffith. Dorothy and Everett were married on Saturday, March 2, 1946, in Watonga, OK. In time, they became parents to Linda Lee, Jimmy Don, and Terry Lynn. In 1963, Dorothy and Everett joined Cherokee Hills Christian Church, serving as youth sponsors for many years and attending regularly. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 66 years, Everett Griffith, of Bethany; her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Stan Nichols, of Oklahoma City; her son, Terry Griffith, of Norman; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Robert and Lauree Nichols, Jamie Beasley, Andrew and Nicole Griffith, Sherrie and Brian McMahon, Emily and Ross Uhler, Elisa Keefe, Julie Griffith, Michael and Kathleen Havard; 19 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, LuVernia and George Houston; her brothers, David Earl Houston and Willie William Houston; her sister, Rose Evelyn Houston; and her son, Jimmy Don Griffith. She brought joy and laughter to her family and friends and will be missed. Services will be held Wednesday, December 26th, 2 p.m., at Huber-Benson Funeral Home, located at 100 S. Barker Avenue in El Reno. Dorothy will be laid to rest in the Canadian Valley Cemetery, north of Calumet. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cherokee Hills Christian Church, 6601 N MacArthur, Oklahoma City, OK 73132.
