February 15, 1927 - August 3, 2013 SAPULPA Mary Kathryn Maxwell passed away August 3, 2013 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Mary was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on February 15, 1927. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Robert Cook and Sylvia Louticia (Goodner) Tye; her brother Robert Tye; and her sister JoAnn Cunningham. Mary was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mary is survived by her loving husband, Rodney Maxwell; her son Gary Jones and wife Carol of Tulsa; her daughter Kathleen Looper and husband Jim of Tacoma, Washington; grandchildren Keith and Karen Jones of Tulsa, Nancy and Peter Disterlic of Keller, Texas, Jared Don and wife Sherrie Looper of Kissimmee, Florida, Joel and wife Brandy Looper of Marathon, Florida, and James Looper of Seattle Washington; and seven great-grandchildren Emily, Audrey and Olivia Jones, Michael, Cole and Alaina Disterlic, and Jessi Looper. She is also survived by her brother Jim and wife Shirley Tye and sisters Margie and husband Bob Stacy and Darla Marshall. Mary grew up in Oklahoma City. Mary lived in Tulsa and Oklahoma City area, where she enjoyed raising Poodles and running a dog grooming business. Mary found joy in serving her Lord Jehovah, honoring her husband Rodney, adoring her children Gary and Kathleen, and sharing her infectious sense of humor and human compassion with her extended family and friends. Mary and Rodney are members of the Jehovah's Witness congregation in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on August 7th, at Smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. A memorial celebration will be held for family and friends following the service at Cedar Ridge Christian Church at 11:00 am. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
