Aug 26, 1926 - Feb 7, 2013 CHOCTAW Georgie Maxine Hester, best known as Maxine, passed away February 7, 2013. One of nine children, she was born on August 26, 1926, in Harrah, OK to Max and Pauline Whisenant. She was a longtime resident of Choctaw and was Valedictorian of her high school class. Maxine married Albert Hester March 24, 1946. She and Albert owned Cupboard Antiques and loved collecting and traveling to sell them. Maxine enjoyed sewing and painting. She and Albert enjoyed being close to family and church. Preceded in death by her son, Jim; and grandsons, James Michael Hester and Brian Taylor; she is survived by husband, Albert; son, Max Hester, of San Antonio; son, Bert and wife Liz, of Shawnee; grandson, Hank and wife Twylla and children, Haley, Hannah, and Hank, of Yukon; grandson, Kyle, wife Laci and children, Grace, Nate, Gabe, and Liam, of Sapulpa; Kim and fiancee Darin Nei, of Norman; and Jon, of Tulsa; and Candy, former daughter-in-law, of Choctaw. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 9, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Choctaw First Baptist Church, with burial following at Elmwood Cemetery in Choctaw, OK.
