February 9, 1925 - December 19, 2012 MIDWEST CITY Mom is at peace and has realized her wish of being with my Daddy and her Lord for eternity. Omega was born at home in Eola, OK, 9 Feb. 1925, to D.D. and Mamie Duke. When she was 5, she contracted rheumatic fever, causing permanent heart damage to which she finally succumbed on Dec. 19. At the age of 9, Omega's mother died, but it wasn't long until Eleanor Shepherd came into her and D.D.'s life to fill the role of wife and mother. Omega grew up and graduated high school in Stonewall, OK. After high school she briefly attended college at East Central. She was notified of her hiring by the FBI in Washington, D.C., but D.D. didn't want her to go that far away, so he told her to try and get a job at the new government place in Oklahoma City. Thus Omega moved to OKC, started to work at Tinker and lived the single life in an apartment with 5 other girls during WWII. In 1947, she married Troy Gibson, a boy she had grown up with in her home town. Troy was called back into active service during the Korean War and they moved to Donaldson, TN. Moving back to Midwest City after the war, in 1953 their only child, Cynthia Gail, was born. Omega was a vibrant, unselfish, faithful, and phenomenal person. Words cannot express how much her family will miss her smile, her funny sayings, and being her guinea pigs for her fabulous cooking. Omega was predeceased by her parents, her step-mother, and her husband, Troy. Surviving Omega is her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Marc Davidson, her grandson and his wife, Myles and Marilyn Davidson, her great grandson, Gibson, and her beloved grandson, Daryl Davidson. A special thank you to mom's caregivers, Darlene and Elaine. Mom you were truly a wife, mom and granny extraordinaire. Burial will be at Arlington Memory Gardens on 24 Dec. at 10am with a memorial service on 27 Dec. 10 am, Wickline United Methodist Church, 417 Mid-America, MWC, OK.
