Obituary Condolences

March 9, 1939 - April 24, 2013 MOORE Orvil Davis, 74, of Moore, died April 24, 2013, after a 29-year battle with cancer. Orvil was born March 9, 1939, in Dewar, OK to Adam & Lou Ellen Davis. He graduated from Dewar High School in 1958. He served in the Army for five years. He worked for Hughes Helicopter in California and married Dorthy Hendrix in 1968. In 1977, they returned to Oklahoma. For 20 years, he worked as a tool and dye maker for Totco Engineering and later for Continental Carlisle, Inc in Oklahoma City. Orvil was an avid fisherman. Over the last several years, Orvil was asked to work with head and neck cancer patients, offering advice and practical information from his own experience with head and neck cancer. Preceded in death by parents, Adam & Lou Ellen Davis; brothers, Jim and Lloyd Davis; and sisters, Norma Graff, Mary Rouse, and Betty Tittle; he is survived by wife, Dorthy; daughter, Brenda Williams & Tony, of Verdigris; four grandchildren, Angie Jones, Breanna Nelson, Daron Wright, and J.R. Wright; six great-grandchildren; and his brother, John Davis & Mary. Funeral service 1 p.m. April 29 at First Baptist Church, Newcastle, Burial at Norman IOOF Cemetery. Arrangements by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle.
