March 26, 1941 - Dec 6, 2012 GARLAND, TX Patricia Ann Thomas, 71, died December 6, 2012, with her loving family by her side in her house in Garland, TX. Born on March 26, 1941, in Oklahoma City to Jack and Connie (Babe) Berkley, she attended Rosary School, graduated from Bishop McGuinness in 1959 and continued her education at Rose State and the University of Central Oklahoma, earning a Sociology degree. Her life is well-described in what she submitted for her 50th high school reunion: My Life: After helping my seven children become adults with good values, I achieved a Sociology Degree. I have worked as a counselor with a non-profit Consumer Credit Counseling Service and a Rape Crisis Shelter. I left Oklahoma City in 1989, have lived in: Clearwater, FL, San Antonio, TX, Tulsa, OK, Denver, CO, Island of Guam and have made my home in the Dallas, TX area since 1995. I like it here and have found many Oklahomans with their friendly, good value manner living here. Activities & Interests: Produce full length winter ponchos as a gift for the very special wheelchair-bound children in the Denver, CO area. I also do volunteer work. Retired since 1998. Travel to visit my children and my brother at Virginia Tech. Attend plays, my grandchildren's activities, Mavericks basketball games and check out the new ventures in the Dallas area with friends. What would I do differently? Nothing! In truth the best things in life are not things but people. A celebration of her life will be held on March 23rd in Oklahoma City.
