Robert Callaway Obituary

Robert Edgar Callaway, age 66, passed away on November 2, 2009. He was born to Charles Wesley Callaway and Hazel Delores Callaway on May 25, 1943. He was married to Janice Walker Callaway on December 18, 1965. He is survived by his wife Janice, of Choctaw, Oklahoma, son Chad and wife Sondra Callaway of Midwest City, Oklahoma, and son Kirk and wife Jacque Callaway of Midwest City, Oklahoma, sister Charlene Goble of Temecula, California, brother Clifford Callaway of Charlotte, North Carolina, and grandchildren Dylan, Olivia, Christopher, and Jackson, sister-in-law Jacquie and husband Claude Yates, sister-in-law Rena Walker, mother and father-in-law Marvin and Adrienne Walker and many nieces, nephews and their special children who knew him as Uncle Bobby Boy. He was a member of the Late Great Chevy Club. He graduated from Bethany High School, Bethany, Oklahoma, in 1961, and attended Bethany Nazarene College. His enduring pleasures were his grandchildren, and the restoration of his 1957 Chevrolet. His many friends at Tri-City Alcoholics Anonymous will miss his ongoing commitment to the health of each of the members, and of the organization and its clubhouse. His many acquaintances came to appreciate his helping hands, always ready in the time of need. Memorials may be made to Moore Tri-City Alcoholics Anonymous Chapter or Choctaw United Methodist Church Building Fund. Visitation is from 5-7 pm, Wednesday, November 4. Funeral services will be 2 pm, Thursday, November 5, Choctaw United Methodist Church at NE 10th and Choctaw Road.

Janice and family, I just heard of Bob's passing and wanted to express my deepest sympathies. You and Bob meant so much to me when I first got sober and I will always cherish those fond memories.

Bob was my sponsor for a number of years at Tri City. He was always an example of grace, patience, tolerance and good sense. He lived the ideal to which I aspire but always seem to fall short. I was saddened at the news of his passing and will miss Bob very much.

Bob will always be a good memory in my
years at Bethany High School. He was
such a great guy and had the best sense
of humor. Always ready to help anyone
that needed help or just a kind word.
I will always remember him as such a
person. My sympathy goes out to his
family, I know they will miss him
terribly.
Best regards,
Sandy(Chastain)Dillingham
