PittmanJune 22, 1931 - Dec 8, 2013 MIDWEST CITY Walter Edward (Taz) Pittman, 82, of Midwest City, OK, passed away December 8. The son of Sidney L. & Flossie M. Pittman, he was born on June 22, 1931, in Red Oak, NC. He was preceded in death by his heart and soul of 55 years, Nobuko Pittman; his parents; his three brothers; one sister; and his oldest son, James Pittman. He is survived by his son, Robert and wife Joyce Pittman; daughters, Barbara Jarrell and Carol Pittman; daughter-in-law, Levona Pittman; sons-in-law, Nick Inge and Mike Jarrell; seven nieces and nephews, nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. As a Korean and Vietnam War veteran, after 25 devoted years, he retired from the Air Force, permanently settling in MWC, where he worked at Tinker AFB another 20 years. A member of Choctaw Church of the Nazarene, Walter was a "gentle giant" that loved his wife, family and friends. Kind, compassionate, witty and full of life, Walter took pride in finding a smile for anyone. Services were held on Friday, December 13 at 2 p.m at the Barnes and Friederich Funeral Home in MWC.
