JeromeAug 7, 1913 - June 8, 2013 SHAWNEE Bud Jerome was born in Walters, OK to Charles P. and Viola Rhoads Jerome. He attended public schools in Bethany, OK and graduated from Classen High School in Oklahoma City. He married his childhood sweetheart, Oval Plymate, in 1932. They spent 54 great years together before Oval's death in 1986. During WWII, Bud worked as a supervisor at the Douglas Aircraft factory in Tulsa and after the war, moved to Midwest City and began working for Senator Mike Monroney in the family business. During his years with Senator Monroney, he attended Oklahoma City University at night, earning his Law Degree. Bud spent many years in government service. He retired from the National Labor Relations Board in Fort Worth, TX, and he and his wife moved to Shawnee, OK to be near family. He was an active member of the United Methodist Church throughout his life. He was a member of the Oklahoma City Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Temple in Fort Worth, Scottish Rite Temple in Guthrie, and the Shriners of Oklahoma City. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. Bud is survived by his daughter, Carole Brown and husband Tom, of Shawnee, OK; son, Dee and wife Lynn, of Edmond, OK; grandchildren, Greg Brown and wife Christine, Hal Brown and wife Kathy, Laurie Bushman and husband Thom, Brad Jerome and wife Erin; and 11 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Project Heart Senior Citizen Center and the Administration and Staff of Avonlea Cottage of Shawnee. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at St Paul's United Methodist Church, 301 N. Beard Ave., Shawnee, OK. Services are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
