Aug 5, 1958 - Nov 14, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Robert Roy Tipton went home to his Heavenly Father on Nov. 14, after a valiant battle against pancreatic cancer. Bobby was born Aug. 5, 1958, in Oklahoma City, OK to Marland Tipton and Naomi Estes Tipton, who preceded him in death. Bobby grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Putnam City West High School. Bobby was married to Janna Beth Moore in Oklahoma City on Oct. 20, 1984.He retired from the USDA Grazinglands Research Lab in El Reno. Bobby held a special place in his heart for his co-workers. Bobby was a 32? Mason, member of Myrtle Lodge #145; PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor; endowment member of the National Rifle Association.; Amateur Radio Operator, KI5XO; licensed mechanical contractor; season ticketholder of the Oklahoma City Barons. He cherished hunting and fishing with family, especially nephew, Rodney. He enjoyed volunteering for the annual youth hunts in partnership with Oklahoma Dept. of Wildlife Conservation and remained close to those involved in the project. Bobby loved NHRA drag racing, ice hockey and astronomy. He was an avid runner. Bobby is survived by his wife, of the home, Janna Beth Tipton. He is also survived by brother, Clay Tipton, of Harrah; brother, Bill Tipton and wife Lois, of Bethany; sister, Rose and husband Tom Bessman, of Oklahoma City; and 12 much-adored nieces and nephews.Funeral services and interment were held Monday at Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 8701 Northwest Expy, OKC.
