Jan 22, 1917 - Jan 4, 2014 BETHANY Ed Hale passed away January 4, 2014, at the age of 96. He was born January 22, 1917, in Sylvester, Texas, to Chester and Viola Hale and was the ninth of their 12 children. He proudly served in the 10th Armored Division of the United States Army during WWII and was transferred to Oklahoma City in 1959 by Gulf Oil, his employer of 34 years until his retirement in 1982. He was a Charter Member of Grace United Methodist Church and an avid fan of the Texas Longhorns, Texas Rangers and the OKC Thunder. He is survived by his wife of 65 and a half years, Marjorie, of Bethany, OK; his daughter, Phyllis Marshburn, of Atlanta, GA; son, Chris Hale, of Bethany, OK; granddaughter, Molly Bell and her husband Sean Bell, of Atlanta, GA; grandsons: Joey Marshburn, of Atlanta, GA; and Jeff Marshburn, of Charleston, SC; great-grandsons, Nick Bell and Joe Bell, of Atlanta, GA; as well as many extended family members and friends. Family will be greeting friends Monday evening, 5-7 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to honorflight.org
