Sept. 13, 1939 - Feb. 8, 2014 THE VILLAGE Ronny Clyde Stump was born in a log cabin South of Wellston, OK on September 13, 1939 and passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2014. Ron was a resident of The Village in Oklahoma City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Clyde Stump and Frances Faye Williams, by his paternal grandparents, George Washington Stump & Vernie Marie Robertson, and by his maternal grandparents, Benjamin Franklin Williams and Mary Bell Hanshew. He graduated from Norman High School & attended OU. On September 13, 1959 he married Ada Marie Cox, his wife of 54 years. He is survived by his wife, Ada; son, Ronald W and his wife Sharon & grandchildren, Aaron & Tyler Stump, step-grandchildren, Lauren & Caitlin, great grandchild, Hannah Stump & step-great grandchild, Aleena; daughter, Brenda & her husband Dale & grandchildren Thomas, Samuel & Joseph Absher; daughter, Kelly Stump Curtis & grandchildren Lisa & her husband Sean Sundstrom & Jon Curtis & wife Lauren & great grandson Phoenix Curtis; & two brothers, Jerry Lee Stump & Kurt Jon Stump; three sisters, Kaye Frances Adams, Sharon Yvonne Shaw & Sandra Faye Butcher. Ron's father, Russell, started a family business calling it Talk - A - Radio Distribution Co. Russell expanded the company by taking on new products to sell; the central built-in-vac cleaner was a big hit with the builders and the homeowners so he changed the name to Russell Stump & Associates to encompass his sons. Ronny was working with his father parttime and attending college at OU when he went to work fulltime with his father and eventually becoming the owner of the business after the death of his father in 1986. Ron would change the name of the business one last time to Russell Stump & Associate Company, INC. Ron was an excellent fisherman, enjoyed hunting, & playing golf. He is a member of the Village Baptist Church, and over the years served as a teacher in the Youth Departments, and Men's Bible Study classes. Ron loved to read and was a history buff but more than that he loved to read and share the Bible; Calvin Spurgeon, and all the great works he could get his hands on he read. Ron was a hard worker and was ready to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed one. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Ron will be truly missed by his family and friends. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Vondel Smith North Colonial Chapel with burial following at Carney Cemetery, Carney, OK.
