"Rene" Peeler August 3, 1928 - March 10, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY Lorena Mae "Rene" Peeler, 85, passed away on March 10, 2014. She was born in Foster, Oklahoma, on August 3, 1928, to Cecil B. and Lula Bell Mullens. She graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1945 and worked for years at Jim's Supermarket on Southwest 74th and Penn. She retired from Kerr McGee Oil Company, after 23 years of service, in the accounting department. Lorena enjoyed reading, bingo, and "collecting coins" at the casino. Her true passion was shopping for clothing just to turn around and take it back the following day. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 53 years, Robert Earl Peeler; daughter, Linda Ann Koen; sister, Mary Ann Angier; and great-granddaughter, Abbey Grissom. Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Grissom; grandchildren, Robert Cunningham and wife, Kim, Tracie Montgomery, Brandon Grissom and Brent Grissom; great-grandchildren include, Madison and Corben Montgomery, Dustin Cunningham and Owen, Henry and Jake Grissom. She is also survived by brothers-in-law, Gerald Peeler, Leon Peeler and sister-in-law, Audry Testerman; along with a host of nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Legends at Council Road for their constant care and compassion and the employees at Harbor Light Hospice for their care during her final days. Last, but not least, our thanks and appreciation to Vanessa Broiles, for her acts of kindness and care and love she gave to Rene. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM-9:00 PM, Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home in Moore. Graveside Services to be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Resthaven Memory Gardens, OKC. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home.
