June 30, 1959 - March 14, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY Jill was born to Janice M. Pitney (Thompson) and John Rinard Thompson in Oklahoma City. In 1970, the family moved to Atlanta, GA, where Jill graduated from North Springs High School in Atlanta. Shortly thereafter, Jill returned to Oklahoma to care for her ailing father and attend East Central University in Ada. Jill remained a lifelong resident of Oklahoma City, where she will be remembered by many for her kindness and caring, love of family, animals and love of a good book. Jill is survived by sons, James Selman, Jr and John Jameson; her granddaughter, Aubrey; mother, Janice M. Pitney; brother, John R. Thompson, II, and sister-in-law, Tsinena Thompson; cousins: David and Mignon Plyler, of Sherman, TX; Mark and Kimberly Floyd, of Bells, TX; Matt Thompson and Charles Thompson and Christopher Gillam, of Oklahoma City; and Lynn Ann Hines, of Marysville, TN; Aunt Cynthia and Francis Karam, of Sherman, TX; Aunt Betty Gillam, of Ardmore, OK; and her dear friend, Vernon Lawson, of Oklahoma City. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper, 6600 N. Broadway.
