October 13, 1980 - June 6, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY Rebekah Lydia Birkes, 33, entered Heaven on June 6, 2014 after a long brave battle with cancer. Rebekah was born on October 13, 1980 in Oklahoma City and was a graduate of Westmoore High School and the University of Oklahoma. She was a valued employee at Paycom Payroll, Inc. in Oklahoma City. Rebekah was a very talented artist and an avid OU and Thunder fan. Her quiet strength, loyalty and sense of humor endeared her to many and she will be missed by all who knew her. Rebekah is survived by parents Philip and Cynthia Birkes, sister Rachel Meinke and brother-in-law David, nephews Derek and Aaron Meinke, uncle Anthony Pendergraph, aunt Karen Schroeder and uncle Melvin, many cousins, her two Pomeranians, Boo and Scout and many dear friends. A memorial service for Rebekah will be held Wednesday, June 11th, at 10 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Moore, Oklahoma. The memorial service is under the direction of Vondel Smith Mortuary South.
