ISAAC GUSTAFSON Obituary
June 8, 2011 - July 9, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY Isaac Lee Gustafson was born three short years ago, June 8, 2011. He instantly went to be with Jesus on July 9, 2014. Isaac's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around him, and though he spoke with few words, we always knew that he was a very caring little boy in that whenever we would even stub our toes, he would caringly ask us, "Are you okay?" Although Isaac's mild autism made him appear withdrawn, he possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome his communication challenges. With his courage, he led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. He could spend hours playing with his blocks and watching Veggie Tales, then he would take a break and quietly say to us, "I love you." With Isaac's passing, we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him every day, especially his winning smile, he will forever remain in our hearts. Through his teachings about life, we were able to create wonderful memories, and it has been a privilege to be his parents. Isaac leaves behind many wonderful people who provided love and support that enhanced his quality of life. Isaac's love extends to his wonderful speech therapist, Trisha Graham. Isaac is survived by his loving parents, Jay and Kandi Gustafson, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brother, Daniel John Gustafson; paternal grandparents, Jerry and Rose Gustafson, of Enid, Oklahoma; maternal grandparents, Sharon Poulter, of Ponca City, Oklahoma; and Clint Humphrey, of San Antonio, Texas; aunt, Julie Eastin and husband Chad, of Waukomis, Oklahoma; aunt, Clarissa Pritchett, of Ponca City; uncle, Paul Hughes, and aunt, Lizzy, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and his cousins, Mersadies, Ian, Phoenix, Tayton, Hayley, Benjamin, McKenzie, and Evan. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Monday, July 14, 2014, in the Mercer-Adams Funeral Service Chapel, 3925 N. Asbury.
