Aug. 2, 1933 - Aug. 12, 2014 EDMOND Vera Jean Thompson, daughter of Ruth and LV Cox, was born August 2, 1933, in Oklahoma City. She went to be with the Lord August 12, 2014. Vera grew up in Moore, OK and stayed very active in school and church activities. After high school, she worked as an administrative secretary at Dolese for 20 years. In 1956, she married the love of her life, M. Curtis Thompson. They raised two children, Todd and Teri. Vera was preceded in death by her daughter, Teri (1977). She is survived by her husband, Curt; son, Todd and wife Karrie; 3 wonderful grandchildren, Tyler and wife Maggie, Corby, and Lexie; many nieces, nephews, and countless other family and dear friends. "Jumommy" loved attending her grandchildren's activities and traveling with her family. She will be remembered for her positive spirit, kind heart, and genuine love for everyone. A memorial service will be held at 1:30pm on Friday, Aug. 15, at Village Baptist Church. Visitation is 6-8pm, Thursday, Aug. 14, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the North Side YMCA or Village Baptist Church.
