March 25, 1934 - Aug 16, 2014 MIDWEST CITY Carlos "Neil" McCarter passed away August 16, 2014, at his home in Midwest City. He was born March 25, 1934, in Dale, Oklahoma, to Arvel and Leta (Stell) McCarter. During his life, Neil enjoyed restoring old cars and playing guitar. He was also man of faith; he was a graduate of Rhema Bible College and enjoyed being an active member of his church. He also served his country in the U.S. Army, where he retired after 20 years, earning a Bronze Star Medal and a Purple Heart. Neil was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Van Paul McCarter. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Ernestine; daughters, Leta McCarter, Vera McCarter, and Jackie Bade; brother, Glen McCarter; sister, LaRue Stephens; former spouse, Maria McCarter; grandchildren, Daniel James, Rennae McCarter, Jason Roberts, Shannon Sebastian, Nicole Israel, Sarah Bussell, Austin DeLaPorte, and Tyler Haney; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous caring neighbors.
