July 25, 1928 - August 23, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY Vena Mae Kemp, 86, passed away on August 23, 2014 in OKC. She was born on July 25, 1928 in Oklahoma City, OK to John Wesley and Ina Lee (Tucker) Jackson. Vena loved serving her Lord, and enjoyed playing the piano and organ and was once a member of a ladies quartet. She also enjoyed gardening, OU sports, crossword puzzles, reading, and spending time with her family. She worked outside the home until she was 70 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Looman Bynum; second husband, William Kemp; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Dean Lacquement; grandson, Dean Lacquement, Jr.; siblings, Thurman Jackson, Vera Mershann, Lydia Carter, Dale and Wayne Jackson. Survivors include her daughters, Sandy Hensley (Danny), Donna Atchley (Danny "Buddy"); step-children, Bill Kemp, Jr., Ralph Kemp (Gloria), Vanessa Larrimore (Bob); 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 8 great, great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 28, 2014, at Southern Temple Baptist Church. Interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Oklahoma City, OK.
